Benecia Cooper:
Short stature, average build, looks more like a boy. A seventh year in Innate House, Beni prefers to be known by her nickname. She loves betting, confusing people by speaking in what she claims is "street cant", and can't help show off. She's the oldest of three, and her sister, Audrey, is a Spark. Beni tends to dress more masculine, as does her sister.

People in Innate House know that Beni is a strange kind of shifter; she can shift into any type of animal. She also seems to have absolutely no shame, since she has to get undressed if she wants to keep her clothes in one piece. There's a story that goes around about a bear with a lampshade at a party...

Any who play cards with Beni know she has a very odd deck to play with. The cards are based on the gods she grew up knowing. (Mithros is the King, the Goddess is the Queen, Black God as the Knight. The decks break down into representations of The Graveyard Hag, Shakith, Oinomi Wavewalker, and the Smith’s God, with both Jokers being Kyprioth.)

Allister Cartwright - Technopath - Innate - 6th year

He's a bit of a tech-head. He loves video games and spending time on the internet. He loves going to the parties around campus, particularly at Uni.

He drinks, but seldom to excess. When not in his room or doing classwork he's either doing a work study in spark house repairing broken components or in the lounge changing channels without the clicker. It's rumored he can merge with machines but he is extremely reluctant to do so in public.

He typically wears fingerless gloves, a light brown trench coat, cargo pants filled with bits and pieces of stuff, a studded belt, sunglasses (even indoors) and a stretchy shirt (synthetic fibers)

Dwane Barnes
A tall 6th year bardic actor, with perfect hair, and an Adonius-like body. He is a smooth-talker, and an incredible schmooze, but anyone who has talked to him for more then a few minutes can tell he is not the brightest of fellows. He makes regular references to media of all sorts, especially relating to motion pictures, often putting them into any conversation he strikes up.

He also has been known to make regular stage shows, with incredibly complex and spark-like effects, as well as a number of recurring characters.

People with The Sight, or fellow bards know he has the ability to fully become the characters he plays, them completely subverting his consciousness with their own. There are seven characters he plays, each a caricature of pop culture icons.

Bards will also know he has recently begun mentoring first year Malorie Reynolds, teaching her the wonders of acting and the stage.

Douglas Rain

4th Arcane

Douglas is a very tall, large young man (about 8 feet tall and 4 feet wide). He is a fourth year in the Arcane House with the gift of animal summoning. He has a large spirit wolf that often follows him. He has short brown hair and green eyes. He is of strong build but is a very personable boy. He likes to talk and socialize and is very fond of his friends.

Arlene Nagel - Paladin - Divine - Sixth Year

Nay, as Beni calls her, is a bulky bit of girl, standing about as tall as her friend and enough muscle to wield a great hammer or certain Sparks with more than two arms. She tends to spend time in her own or her brother's lab, probably working on gadgets or threatening Erique (rather loudly and probably involving a hammer) at least when she isn't found with Beni and her family. She's also friends with Wade, finding kinship in them both being mechanokins.

She's got medium length, wavy light-brown hair and brown eyes. Her skin shows seams in it due to her mechanokin nature. Normally found wearing armor over t-shirts and jeans or sometimes tunics even. You know, easy clothing that won't get in the way of things. Depending on the situation, she'll sign when she talks.

Nora Theodoulos
6th year
Divine House

Those with particularly long lifespans and long memory will remember Nora was a student about 300 years ago. She kept to herself, though, and seemed to have simply faded into the background. Now, three centuries, later, she has reappeared at the school, continuing her studies as though nothing has changed. She still keeps mostly to herself, preferring to study on her own in the library than to sit in class. More than once, in a class, Nora has stood up and left the room or performed some odd task, anything from yelling out something unrelated to removing an object from the professor's desk. Because of these outbursts, the professors are often happy to accommodate her and allow her to do classwork as independent studies.

Nora is thin and of average height with olive skin, dark hair, and dark eyes identifying her as of Greek origin. She wears the simple clothing distributed by the school to those without money. Rumors abound that she has regular communication with gods of all pantheons. In addition, she is frequently called upon for healing and, more obscurely, mindhealing.

Erique Sleptner - Spark - Fifth year

Having recently sprouted up like a tree, Erique is a tall, gangly-limbed sixteen year old with a gaunt appearance. He's fond of wearing turtlenecks and slacks that obscure his frame, as well as his long, black labcoat with electric blue piping. Recently installed a set of four mechanical arms onto his back.

He's not know for being very sociable, spending all his time either in classes or in his lab, and rarely anywhere else. Among the spark house, he's regarded as creepy and unpleasant and generally hard to deal with. He smells like a morgue and is extremely fond of dead things and spiders.

Daedalus Nagel is well known as one of the few people who tolerate him, and he can occasionally be found following in his wake, clutching his arm and jabbering away, or using him as a meatshield against any form of social interaction. Daedalus's sister, Arlene, tends to chase him off with hammers.

Nicholas Moriarty Reality Painter - Innate House 5rd year
Kind of tall, fifth year. Tends to go by Nick. Seems to be everywhere, always with a sketchbook or other art materials under his arm. Usually a sketchbook though.

A few years ago, a comic was posted on a bulletin board earlier this year of Amber Natchios, of Innate House, walking through a door, and having a large amount of water falling on her head.

At about the same time she walked through a similar looking door, and was drenched by multiple gallons of water. No buckets or other storage methods were found at the scene.

Melissa Dallin
7th Year
Arcane House

Melissa spends most of her time in classes or in her books. She's an old school rune mage, but still keeps up with the times. She has short black hair, that's a bit of a mess, blue eyes, and always looks like she's running on a few hours less sleep then she should. She wears simple clothing and usually carries a backpack full of books, notes, and various arcane/scrying implements.

Those in Arcane house would know that she looks healthy but is fragile; getting broken bones for things most people would get badly bruised over.

Peter Shetfield
5th year

Paladin of Bran

Peter is a fairly serious guy, usually focused on his weapons training and other classes. He's know for being protective of others, especially healers and the injured. He has the healing gift himself, although he usually downplays it as 'only useful in emergencies.'
he is 6'0", on the thin side, though still very toned. with dirty blond hair (crew cut) and blue eyes, he usual is seen wearing what might be termed casual military - camo pants and plain t-shirts. he is usually armed and armored with a pistol and and a lightly enchanted sharkmail tunic when not at weapons practice and is always seen with a simple necklace with blackbird pendant that he sometimes rubs when thinking.
He willingly admits to being an 'army brat', usually when his style of dress is brought up, and anyone who hangs around him long usually notices other quirks from life in a military family.

She looks about sixteen years old. She has long blond hair that is always up in a tight braid, blue eyes, and slightly tan skin. She is well-muscled and appears quite fit. She wears a brown button down shirt, black shorts, and a belt.

She just transferred to Nightshade Academy, and hasn't yet been assigned to a house. That seems to be on hold, since she has no idea what magical abilities she has, if any. Nor does she have any knowledge of where she came from or why she was brought here--or anything else. A victim of severe amnesia, she can't even remember her own name.

Wade Sorge
5th year
Arcane House

Wade has light brown hair, blue eyes, and stands at around 5"3'. He has a somewhat visible seam on his face going from his forehead, slanting down the right side of his nose, then curving and going across the left side of his face between his mouth and nose. Anyone who looks closely can tell that his left eye is a bit off from normal human eyes. He has also been known to carry around a bunch of wands wherever he goes.

He spends most of his free time in his room, his lab, or the library if he's not spending time with Arlene and Daedalus, the other mechanokin at the school. He generally tries to keep his head down and keep quiet if he can. He seems happiest when he's working on one of his personal projects or even assigned homework and projects.
