Ren continued to take care of the infant he rescued from the vampire hunt and raised her as his daughter (doing so has calmed him considerably from his hero days). The two of them moved into the royal palace where Ren performed his duties as princess Kelsey's personal bard. He also helped the royal court establish The Grand Hunt, an annual tournament named for the aforementioned vampire hunt, where the finest hunters in the kingdom participate in a range of competitions.
